Projectors

Lately I've been fascinated with the idea of a movie projector, especially one that you can take outdoors to create a kind of drive in theater. A picnic on a nice day would be so great followed by a film.
This is an old tear from Domino. A great reason to keep your walls white.
This photo by Tim Walker is pretty fantastic. His images are always so whimsical. A swim and a film?

Elle Decor Showhouse

I visited the Elle Decor Showhouse the past weekend, and here are some highlights:
Of course I loved the library, but the combination of vintage books with objets d'arte was visually arresting.
Plus the library had this hidden bar. tres chic.
I love these art pieces, quirky, a little creepy, but fantastic, especially with the addition of the lights.
This picture is awesome.

glorious rainy Sunday

The best kind of rain, of course, is a cozy rain. This is the kind the anonymous medieval poet makes me remember, the rain that falls on a day when you'd just as soon stay in bed a little longer, write letters or read a good book by the fire, take early tea with hot scones and jam and look out the streaked window with complacency. - Susan Allen Toth

Glaser Home

I'm usually not a fan of so much wood used in interiors, but in combination with lots of windows the look is light and airy.

I think these scans are from Vanity Fair, but if anyone knows for sure...

The title sequence of the original Thomas Crown Affair is so retro and geometric and amazing.

I love these girly pink bedrooms. The bed linens in the last image are especially fantastic. All images from Domino magazine.

some highlights from NY fashion week

I haven't seen all the NY Spring 11 shows yet, but here are some of my favorites so far. Is it too early to say some might be Oscar dress contenders?
This is my absolute favorite. Dreamy and sparkly.

Wally

If you've ever seen the movie The Island you know what I'm talking about. The entire Wally fleet is a beautiful example of great design, but the Wally 118 is my favorite.
Pictures from their website here.
